VoxTrim Privacy Policy

Key notice: VoxTrim performs its core recording, transcription, and editing workflows on your device. The app also includes Google AdMob banner ads, so some features involve network requests and advertising-related data processing.
1. Information We Access or Process
VoxTrim only accesses or processes information needed to provide app functionality:
- Microphone: Used only when you actively record. Your recordings are stored locally and are not uploaded for cloud transcription as part of the core workflow.
- Storage and file access: Used to read project audio, save project data, and write exported results to public directories.
- Speech-to-Text: Core transcription uses a local Whisper model. Your recordings are not uploaded to the developer's servers for the core transcription workflow.
- Advertising and diagnostics data: The app uses Google AdMob to display banner ads. Ad requests may send device identifiers, approximate location data (for example based on IP), app interaction data, and diagnostic information to Google in order to load, measure, and protect ad services.
2. What We Do NOT Do
- We do not upload your recordings to the developer's servers for cloud transcription
- We do not sell your recording content
- We do not allow advertising SDKs to read your local recording files
- We do not share your audio content with third parties as part of the core recording, transcription, and editing workflow
3. Data Storage
VoxTrim stores project data primarily on your device:
- Project files: App-private directory
- Exported files: A VoxTrim export folder in a public directory, such as
Downloads/VoxTrim
Exported audio, subtitle files, and future output files may be grouped into the same export subfolder so they are easier to manage together.
4. Permissions and Network Access
- RECORD_AUDIO: Used for recording and only active when you start recording.
- Network access: Used for ad loading, privacy messaging, app update checks, and related services.
- Public directory writing: Used when exporting audio, subtitle files, and other output files.
5. Ads and Privacy Choices
The app integrates Google AdMob and may show Google-provided privacy messages and privacy options when required. When available, you can review or update related choices inside the app through the "Ads & privacy choices" entry.
6. Children's Privacy
This app is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
7. Policy Changes
If this policy is updated, we may notify you through updated in-app text or a renewed consent flow after the app is updated.
